Terms of Use
1. The service
Fabledrift is an interactive fiction app. You choose a world and a narrator; an AI model writes each scene in response to what you do. The service is provided as described in the app and on this website, and it changes over time as worlds and narrators are added or retired.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Fabledrift, and old enough to enter into these terms where you live. Some worlds carry a higher content level on their cover; by opening one you confirm you meet it.
3. Accounts
The app creates a guest account on first launch. Linking an email address lets you recover the account on another device. You are responsible for keeping your credentials private. You can delete your account at any time from Profile; deletion is immediate and irreversible.
4. Credits, purchases and subscriptions
Reading with the Apprentice narrator is free within a daily allowance. Richer narrators cost credits. Credits are a licence to generate scenes inside the app; they have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are consumed when a scene is generated. A scene that fails to generate is not charged.
Purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to Google's terms. If a subscription is offered, it renews automatically at the stated price and period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel it in your Google Play subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Google Play in line with its policy and with the consumer law of your country. We may change prices, allowances and credit costs for future purchases; changes never reduce credits you already hold.
5. AI-generated content
Scenes are written by an AI model and are fiction. They may be surprising, inconsistent, or, within the content level declared on the world's cover, unsettling. They do not express the views of Fabledrift and must not be relied on as fact or advice. We work to keep each scene inside its declared content level and treat a scene that breaks it as a defect; please report such scenes.
6. Your content
You own the moves, notes and questions you write. You grant us a licence to store and process them, and to send them to our AI provider, solely to provide the service to you. You may export your finished stories and use them as you wish. We do not use your content to train AI models.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access the service by any means other than the app, or automate, script or replay requests;
- attempt to exceed the free allowance, obtain credits you did not pay for, or interfere with billing;
- use the service to generate content that is illegal where you live, or that sexualises minors;
- reverse-engineer the app or the narrator's instructions, or probe our infrastructure.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules. Credits on a closed account are forfeited.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its worlds, narrators, design and text are ours or licensed to us. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond using the service. The fonts in the app are licensed under the SIL Open Font License.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or discontinue worlds, narrators or the service itself. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app and let you export your stories.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are shown in the app before your next scene. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. The date at the top is the version you are reading.
